Some of our favourite things to do

Sometimes local insider knowledge is what what makes the best holidays, so we thought why not list some of our favourite things to do in our beautiful seaside town of Narooma?!

Here's a little list we've come up with so far...

Cycle to Dalmeny along the ocean pathway. Bikes are available for hire at Narooma Bike Hire and it's a great way to slow down, relax, enjoy the scenery you don't always get to see.

Enjoy a drink at the Dalmeny Bowling Club, a feed or even enjoy some of the regular entertainment they have on offer. The family friendly bowling club even has a lovely little playground for the kids to enjoy and a menu to match.

You could always grab some delicious Fish and Chips from Michael's, find a shady spot on the grass and relax before your drive home or just for a picnic lunch on any day of the week! It's been said that Michael's Fish and Chips are "The best in Australia" but don't take our word for it, check out their Trip Advisor page here!

Treat yourself to a divine meal at "The Whale" whose menu changes as often as the seasons and is as local as you can get with the butcher, Jeff next door, Ben the fisherman, and the produce markets from local farms and kitchens. If that's not enough to tantalise your tastebuds he also supplements with foraged food from the beach, the bush, generous friends with an abundance of fresh goodies and their own whale garden. If you don't have time for a mouth-watering sit down meal, you could always enjoy the scrumptious tapas or the live music on a Friday evening.

Need to cool off on one of our beautiful sunny days? Take a stroll over to Bar Beach for a refreshing swim in the protected waters off the bar entrance.

Spend some time out on the water, taking in the serenity of the waterways around our beautiful inlet on the ‘Wagonga Princess’ with Skipper, Charlie. Experience the beautiful Wagonga Inlet, its wildlife, Devonshire and billy teas, rainforest walks, absorb three generations of inlet knowledge delivered with humour, local Aboriginal Culture, on a electrically-powered, whisper-quiet, environmentally-friendly vessel!

We'll keep all the precious insider knowledge coming, so keep an eye on our News page for the next instalment!

More of our favourite things to do

Try your hand at climbing the Narooma Fitness and Cycles Rock wall. Challenge the family on who can go the highest or even a game of squash. Holidays are great for trying new activities.

There's so much to be said about a long leisurely walk and Dalmeny main beach is perfect for just that! It's also a great beach to collect shells, so the kids can make jewellery out of them back at the park or add them to their collection.

Take a step back in time and enjoy a day trip to Central Tilba. It's only a short drive from the park and is a perfectly resorted and maintained period village with beautiful unique shops, cafes, antiques, galleries and much more!

Take a scenic drive (or even a cycle if you're up for it) from Bodalla to Nerrigundah, throughout you'll find yourself admiring the beauty of the green fields along the Tuross River, Historic monuments to memorable Australians of the 1800's from the poet Charles Harpur to Constable Miles O'Grady, intrigued by the Comans Mine, mining relics and much more. Visit the Cycling Narooma website for more great information about this area.

Take a leisurely walk from Mystery Bay via Billy's Beach to the old Velodrome which is approximately an hours walk, and don't forget your camera! The Velodrome was carved out by the early settlers by hand and using horses. It was a very popular cycling track back in its hey day and these days the area is kept tidy by the National Parks and Wildlife service. Many visitors like to walk the track to enjoy the ambience of the area with breathtaking views of the coastline to the north and the Eurobodalla National Park rather than cycling. The track features views of the beautiful rock formations, gravel piles which have been deposited onto the beach by a tsunami many, many, many years ago.

Enjoy some time on the water and hire a tinnie or a kayak from one of the local boat hire companies to explore the inlet.

If you haven't tried Stand-Up Paddle Boarding yet, then maybe it’s on the hit list for your next holiday. Have a lesson in Stand-Up Paddle boarding, it's a great day out and loads of fun.

We've all heard that Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, who are we to argue?! Treat yourself to breakfast at Quarterdeck – there's is not much we can say about this divine food except.... Yum! Oh, and the view is breathtaking too!

New Gym Equipment

Our Council (Eurobodalla Shire Council) have generously installed great new gym equipment as part of the Narooma Flat streetscape project and positioned it just in front of our Park at the edge of the Wagonga Inlet. Now you can enjoy your morning, or afternoon workout in the beautiful Narooma sunshine and with a stunning view! The kids can even help out!
