Narooma Oyster Festival 2012

Date: 5th and 6th of May 2012
Venue: Riverside Drive

Narooma is the place to be this May as a stellar line up of chefs join in the Narooma Oyster Festival Celebrations.

See MASTERCHEF Julie Goodwin helping some wannabe junior Masterchefs create spectacular dishes in front of the crowds in the main marquee and signing copies of her The Heart of the Home cookbook.
Cooking demonstrations will feature chefs from the finest restaurants on the south coast, while giant floating sculptures will stir the tranquil waters of the Wagonga Inlet and golfers can putt out for the chance to win big - only fitting for a town boasting one of Australia’s top public golf courses.

Boutique beer and wine sampling and refreshments from a raft of waterside food and wine stalls will be on hand to provide sustenance, while a vast oyster bar will be serving freshly-shucked oysters alongside a selection of chilled whites.

Narooma Rotary Markets

The fantastic Narooma Rotary Markets are held monthly behind the Narooma Visitors Centre. The perfect excursion to check out the wonderful stalls, hand made items and food.

In support of the Cancer Council's Australias Biggest Morning Tea we will be selling raffle tickets on Wed 23rd May with some fantastic prizes to be won!

Moutains to Beach Ride 2012

Date: 4th to 9th March 2012
Venue: Snowy Mountains to Narooma

The Mountains To Beach is a 'tour' style mountain bike event with solo entrants or pairs riding some 380km on a journey from the mountains the roof top of Australia, the Snowy Moutains, to the surf and sand in Narooma. Not for the faint hearted this week of racing takes riders through snowgum lined plains, 'wind through the helmet' downhills, challenging uphills and some of the most spectacular scenery you could want.

If you are not up to competing the finish will be a spectacular ride past Glass House Rocks on the beach at Narooma - an excellent spot for spectators.

Narooma Fishing Convention 2012

Date: 9th to 11th March 2012
Venue: Narooma

The first weekend of March every year is the time of the annual ANSA convention in Narooma which is possibly our major event so far as the Narooma Sports and Game Fishing Club is concerned. Invitations are sent to all ANSA-affiliated clubs and the event has grown to 100s of competitors and trailer boats

There has been considerable discussion about just when the first convention was conducted but research seems to indicate that it was in 1971 and is credited as one of the longest running events of its kind in Australia. During the 1970s and 1980s it was one of the largest in the country and at one time the largest in the Southern Hemisphere!

Narooma Traditional Boats Afloat Festival 2011

Date: 25, 26 & 27 November 2011

The 6th Narooma Traditional BoatsAfloat is all about enjoying handbuilt or restored boats and sharing your experience with boating enthusiasts from all over.
Fun, friendship and serious nautical discussion are interspersed with cruising around the pristine waters, social gatherings, BBQs and a presentation dinner.
A feature for the public is the Grand Parade of Boats down the inlet to the Boardwalk on Sunday morning.

Camp and Care with BIG4 2011

We will be supporting a worthy cause during Camp and Care with BIG4 on November 11th 2011.

Enjoy a night under the stars for just $20 per site with all proceeds of the evening going to the community effort to build a new Oncology Unit at the Moruya Hospital. This is the perfect opportunity to dust off the tent, bring the family to our beautiful park, jump on the pillow, take a swim AND help our community.
